Aw yay! I've three boy humans so I know the pain of finding time to get out. Thankfully my husband appreciates that he has a calmer wife when I get my fix!

I'm new to running (I say running, it's really much more of a shuffle!). I'm on week 6 of the couch25k so currently it has me running for 25 mins non stop. Any tips you can give are greatly received! Sarah xx

Hi Sarah, you are doing great to be up to 25mins already! I started out with a similar walk-run plan, I didn't have the app but made my own plan of action.. Lol
I always say take the pace slowly, the pace will always get to you before the distance will.
I'm just in from an 8mile run. I had a 10k race last Sunday, that I managed in 52:45. I was chuffed, as it was hot, hilly and very humid! When i started though, I was running a 12min/mile.

Thank you, that's good to know! I worked out that I'm running approx. 12 1/5 minute mile so it's good to know that this isn't unusually slow for a beginner!

What does everyone do running wise, do you just run for fitness or do you race? What distances etc? Do you mix up run days, i.e. tempo/speed work/long runs. Do you run with a club? Just curious!

I'm new to running for fitness but play hockey but since I've had the kids fitness has gone to pot. So classing my self as a beginner I've just started running 20 minutes & then I'm slowly going to up time to 30 & then speed

Girls, can I please ask how big you all were when you started running? I can't imagine being able to run when I have so many (large) wobbly areas, and it's so hard to find good support clothing in big sizes! Thanks in advance...

I'm new to it all, but I just run. Not a member of any club. I think I would like to join some park runs in the future when I'm more competent.

I was about 16 or 16 1/2 stones when I started. It gets easier with every pound I drop!

I was almost 14 stone at 5 ft 4. Even with weight on I didn't have boobs though lol I was very self conscious and felt everyone was watching me but with time that passes. You find yourself watching other people out running wishing you were.
When you are starting out, run in whatever you feel comfortable in. Run. Walk. At least you are out there.

My running history is weird. I ran middle distance and cross county in school but i was crap. I lost interest in exercise and it wasn't until id had my third child that i decided to get fit again.
