Have a 10k race tomorrow and I'm a bit anxious as i'm on a team for my running club. It's the senior (cough) county road championship, so lots of serious runners! ! I'm hoping for a pb if all goes to plan. Current is 52min 40s. I ran it 2 years ago and really struggled, so I really want to do well tomorrow. I don't do well under pressure though. .. Enjoy the race! Let us know how you get on!

Exactly, I just like the idea of having a jog most evenings to burn calories do you find you are more toned now and has it helped with weight loss? X Did you always have a rest day as I feel like I could jog again tonight but it is meant to be a rest day and not sure if that is a necessity? Sorry for all the questions lol x
I have always had a rest day - I just run every other day. On the rest day I try and go for a walk just so that I am still doing something! I don't know if it has made any difference to my weight loss as I'm doing the cambridge plan so I have quite significant losses anyway! But my thighs are definitely getting a good shape, my belly is much smaller and my boobs are disappearing! My calves are quite big but I'm sure they will shrink at some point. I still have weight to lose so just need to keep going!
Love the idea of my tummy and thighs shrinking but have already lost enough off my boobs lol x I will stick with that then as I am trying to do the shred as well x

Yes, don't overdo it. There were times when I felt like I could have done it again the next day but didn't as I didn't want to feel exhausted with it. The programme has been right about everything else, so I trust that those days off are important. And now I really appreciate them!!

Good luck 10kers! I've been absolute rubbish this week. I was on week 7 but haven't ran since 04th June. So might need to drop back a week or repeat a week to get me back into it. I agree with the ladies that I don't really think its the speed that matters to me either its really building up my stamina that matters and to run non-stop for 30mins is such an achievement in my eyes especially at my weight at the moment. I do believe my body shape is changing as I am in smaller clothes than I was when I was lighter. Don't make sense I know but I'll take it.
Anyway have a good week ladies hopefully I'm back on the bandwagon this week I'll see if week 7 is too hard or if I need to repeat 6 this time.

I think it was week 4 that I found most difficult to get through. I wouldn't say the long runs since then have been easy but i have felt that I could push myself to do them. Week 4 was the week I considered whether I had been an idiot spending money on shoes etc as I would never make it. Now I only have two weeks left! Now a question, I have 6 runs left. If I have tomorrow for a rest day I will be one run short before I go off on holiday. If I run tomorrow night I could finish before we go. That would be 36ish hours between runs. So run or wait..

I also read something else today that said if you want to build bulky muscle work on speed but if you want long lean muscle aim for stamina/longer runs.

So I didn't make it out last night. We were supposed to pick eldest daughter up at 5 so thought I could get out before 6 but we didn't get home till nearly 7 by which time eldest was having a migraine an no one was feed. So got out to night for week 8 run 1. Loved it and tried to have a more consistent pace and pushed the last few minutes. Feeling it tonight which I haven't done for a while. My app I track runs with has gone mad though. It seemed to think I have covered nearly 8km! So a pace of less than 5mins/km! Last run was 7.5mins/km.
