I enjoy knitting. I use to knit for the family but now they prefer to go and buy a jumper. Also they are so big I prefer to knit for smaller people. I knit for Prem babies for a local hospital.

Knitters of the dieting world, unite! X Yeah! Right on sister! I too am a phantom knitter. I knit all my husbands socks on 4 needles, aran on 2. I am lost if I sit in front of the TV without some craft work on the go. I've just started investigating that hook and latch ( like the carpet work) craft and am getting to grips with a cushion cover. I find my other hobby of tapestry making is getting very expensive

I knew there would be knitters lurking here somewhere! I'm still a bit of a beginner to be honest. I'm knitting a Ron Weasley blanket (from Harry Potter) which is made up of squares with different patterns on so it's great for learning new techniques. I want to be able to knit my own clothes but a big person does need so much wool! Perhaps when I get to goal

Have you tried Knooking? I don't see how you can 'knit' a jumper so I guess it's just for hats, scarves and small things. Looks easy to do so may try it out.

Another knitter here! I love doing Aran's and anything else plus crochet and have just joined a Knit & Natter group where we all knit for various charities. Another group I've joined I'm learning patchwork and quilting. I used to make the majority of my own clothes years ago and I crochet a dress for myself for one of my daughter's wedding.

I'm just about to start a jumper for me.If I start it now I might get it finished in time for Winter. Haha I know that feeling. I've only knitted one jumper using chunky wool and big needles. It knitted up really quickly and I was done it two days! It was my first full project but I wasn't experienced with dye lots and the back is a slightly different colour to the front as it was two different dye lots. I want to undo it all and knit it again but stripe the two dye lots so it makes a pattern. It's a good jumper but my seaming could be better. One day, I'll start it again! At the moment I'm working on my Ron Weasley blanket. I kept trying to knit mittens but couldn't get the sizing right so gave up for now! X

I used to love knitting, particularly babies items, then went through a phase of knitting for my daughters dolls, including a very tiny aran cardigan for Barbie!...lol
But, sadly everything I have started in latter years never got finished, mainly due to the arthritis in my hands, but maybe i should give it a go again.
A neighbour's daughter is expecting a baby boy shortly, perhaps if I get started soon, it could maybe have some bootees or a hat before he is 18!
