Thank you for the link Knit1purl1, as they still make Wendy Peter Pan, which was my favourite, now to find the cheapest place with P & P to get it from!

Hello all. Can I join in? I love knitting and have done lots of baby clothes for various charities. Also like doing novelty things like toys etc. Am off to Ally Pally tomorrow for the knitting and stitching show and am hoping to get some nice wool to get my winter project started....a blanket for ME for a change Ninsie

Hello knitters! New to this forum but not new to knitting or dieting... Currently slacking in both areas after a productive June making 3 baby cardis for some gorgeous little ones in the family. Frogged back a cardigan for me that would have been too small (damn changing weight and not being a quick enough knitter) and not really doing much else at the minute.

Not been posting on here as I can't get on with it.

Oh that's a tough one, I would say find someone you know to show you and walk you through it. Failing that there's lots of beginners tutorials on Youtube, you could try following one of those to get you started. Let us know how you get on. If you have any questions as you go along I'm sure we'll all try to help.

What is the best way to learn how to knit? I can crochet, but only circles!! If you don't know anyone who knits then Youtube and books. Also there are magazines in the shop which has it all in.There is a Knitting and Crochet starter pack in the shops now. it contains wool and some needles. Practise casting on,then knitting the stitches. Once you've mastered that practise purl stitches. Best item to knit to start with is a simple scarf.

Well I never got to order any online, as I was waiting to get some from John Lewis, and everytime I went Christmas shopping, forgot! Anyway, my daughter got me some white John Lewis brand yesterday, but one ball is DK the other is 4 ply, so, will be returning them. But, lo and behold, went to Shaw's in town this morning, and they have started selling Wendy Peter Pan, so, got myself a ball, to start a cardigan for either my Nephew's, Goddaughter's or Nieces baby later on.

Not done much knitting as moved from Cornwall to Devon a few months ago and now living with my son. Most of my time is taken up looking after his house and garden while he is at work. Hoping now everything is straight I get to do some knitting and find a local knitting group.
