You've done really well to maintain your weight over that period - if you don't mind me asking how do you manage eating out, going away and other occasions like Christmas, Easter etc. Please ignore this if you think I'm being nosey! I managed to stay within target April this year for 14 weeks - then had a holiday gain and have been upndowning since Ha ha, I've always worked the 4 week weigh in rule to it's max! And now sw have altered that to 8 weeks well....lol. I've had 2 holidays this year. April was an all inclusive hotel in Tenerife for 11days... I (think) came back with an extra 9lbs! Of course most was bloat and getting back on plan again it wasn't too long before I could weigh in, in target of course. July was for 12 days, again Tenerife but half board this time. Fortunately I don't drink alcohol but this time I found places that sold sugar free drinks like 7Up free, Sprite & Fanta. At lunch time we sometimes ate in a cafe, restaurant or got a Subway tuna salad. I mostly avoided the desserts at the evening meal. This time I came back with 4lbs excess. That was a snip and went off quickly. We're going again in January, for 2 weeks but this time trying a self catering apartment. To be honest, normally I don't eat out very much. But if I do it tends to be a carvery or jacket potato with tuna mayo. I have strange dietary issues...so eating out has never been easy. Recently I started eating some meat again so that has helped. Christmas & Easter and any other time...chocolate is my downfall!!! (Hence my name...Dark Chocolate) So although I don't weigh every week at group I do try and go every week. I like Image Therapy. I like my consultant because she's always so positive and encourages lots of sharing of ideas and recipes. She always has a good interest table and is open to knowledge particularly from members like me who eat different foods to the mainstream members. The other thing for the good or bad is that I'm a daily weigher at home. I actually find that helps me stay with the plan. I also have a small notebook and write my daily eating down...I've done that for years, long before I ever joined sw. And I'm not above eating extremely 'light' the day before weigh in if I've about reached my 4th week!! Not sure if any of that helps you Upndown... Janet

Ah thank so much for responding so fully Janet - that's really interesting and very helpful - yes you've highlighted all my danger areas and it's really useful to see how you manage them - I go to class each week when I can but since we've retired we have more time away so not able to go every week and I'm too chicken to go the week after a break - cos of the inevitable gain It's a really good idea to keep a record of your food and making careful choices from SW's generous allowances - I always feel better when I stick to the plan so never sure why I fall off the wagon so often!! I too regularly have a light day pre WI day but equally often have a blowout on WI day itself - which needs to stop! I really need to rein myself in a little - I've been going to SW for about 18 years on and off and got to target for the first time this year!! So must get back in the zone - thank you again for you comprehensive response - I find it v useful to hear how others overcome their weight probs and need to learn from them!
