today was a 5km run (still in the run/walk phase) managed to knock 5 mins off my time though whoop!

My total steps count for the week is down by around 10,000. There are a couple of reasons for this, firstly less gym classes because of bank holiday weekend. Secondly less exercise on Wednesday due to a visit to the dentist. Finally a very disappointing gym class- the bums and tums was not good this week. That class is cancelled next week, but hopefully will be better when it starts again the week after next. Weather permitting I intend to do a good long walk tomorrow plus I will probably do the steps class this week so hopefully I will get the steps up for the week.
I am also sorting out an exercise programme on the wii fit.

Hello, Don't go for harsh exercise just switch to slimming pills and fat burners . You will see the difference in your weight in very short period. Thanks, Sam

After being given a treadmill I sat and looked at it for a few days. Then I started just doing slow walking on it. I can actually run be it slow on it. I do 15 mins then need to have a break then another 15 mins. I'm going to do 5 mins a bit faster then walk 5 min then 5 mins again until I've done 30 mins. Need to get back into my yoga as I find it helps with keeping me flexible. No complaints from neighbours downstairs yet. Perhaps they are deaf.

oh wow, what a helpful thread to keep track! just what i need!
okay so i've literally only been exercising since last thursday (so... tonight was day 5 (missed yesterday because i didn't feel well)) when i had my first appointment with my personal trainer at my new gym. his plan for me, due to the fact that a] i've been so sedentary for so long and b] i've got really bad anxiety about even being at the gym in the first place, was just to do a 5 min warm-up on the upright bike, do a couple of mobility exercises, then do 15 min at level 4 on the same bike, then 15 min on level 5 on the recumbent bike and then final stretches. in total, that's a workout of 35 minutes if we don't include the stretches. i did exactly as he said for 2 days, and then started increasing - not to be ridiculous but because i felt like i could go on and i wanted to test myself. the past 2 times i've hit the 60 minute mark because i've extended the bike sessions (one or both) to 20 mins and i've started using the treadmill for 15-25 mins. i've never been able to run without feeling like my shins were exploding, even at much lower weights, so i've just been walking and varying the speeds every couple of minutes but i'm managing so far.
it's the weirdest thing. i'm actually really enjoying it.
i've always HATED exercise. it makes me hot, sweaty, sore and just WHY?! i heard all these people over the years yelling about how good it makes them feel and wrote them off as nutters or liars but seriously, i don't know if it's an exercise high itself of just plain pride that i'm even getting in there in the first place but i'm so happy with myself right now!
apologies, i know this isn't a diary but i just felt the need to share. will try to keep it short and sweet from now on!
today 10 min warm up walking on treadmill - level 4ish 15 min upright bike - level 4 mobility stretches 20 min recumbent bike - level 5 stretches 15 min walking on treadmill - level 4ish
= 60 mins

I do a 35 minute "warm up" on the Wii Fit U, which is 15 minutes of Hula Hooping, boxing and dancing. Then I move on to my barbell workout with the Pump FX dvd which I do 40 minutes of (I cut out lunges as I loathe them & I have a sore knee) Also do 30 minutes on my cross trainer every day. Do some workouts on my gym for 20 minutes every other day too. So that's my usual daily routine - however only got 30 minutes on the cross trainer done today due to a family problem which needed dealing with

I've not been updating my exercise on here, but I have been busy exercising. We had to temporarily move gym classes for a couple of months, that involved a little extra walking to get to the new premises. But now we are almost back to normal. I've been trying to walk every lunchtime, weather permitting. One week in January I did very well and walked at least two miles every lunchtime - one day was over three miles. But bad weather and work deadlines slowed me down last week, and a sore throat and sniffles were the culprit this week. I stopped going to the Tuesday gym class which was bums and tums circuits - I wasn't enjoying it and there was more standing around than actually doing anything. I replaced it with a second class on Wednesday which was with resistance bands. However that one is being replaced with a Pilates class from next week. The other Wednesday class is now a bums and tums which is fine. Piloxing on Thursday, and then the weekends classes are Group Fight, Group Groove and Group Centergy. I tried out a steps class which I enjoyed, and we are now waiting for the instructors to qualify to teach it and add it to the timetable. It will probably be on a Monday which is fine as I can add that in instead of the second Wednesday class. (Or if I like the Pilates I may keep that one in) I 've also booked a course with the personal trainer, over 8 weeks they will monitor my diet, weight and exercise. That will start sometime in March. The aim is to lose a little more weight (because a few pounds have crept back on? ), and build up my fitness levels and prepare for a 5k (although I did say I think I will be walking not running) I intend to try and walk every dinnertime during the week, I'm using my Fitbit flex to keep track of steps, even with the long walks at lunchtime 10,000 steps a day is a big target. I also have some hand weights and my wifi fit and board so should manage to do something. Regarding the Fitbit, I've also been using a walking app to track the walks, they plot the distance and show it on a map. The distances on that are always a lot more than the Fitbit is showing that I walk, so I'm not sure which one is accurate.

Tried the Pilates class this week, I'm not sure about it, but will give it a couple of weeks before I make a decision. At the moment I'm thinking I would like more energetic exercise.. I managed some good walks this week - on two lunchtimes I almost walked 5 k ( 4 .75 one day and 4.5 another)

I was the same, about Pilates.. But it's actually quite hard lol so I mix things up by doing cardio workouts on other days Monday: kettlercise, Wednesday- Pilates, Thursday yoga and Friday spinning!! 2 low intensity classes mid week! give my body a chance to recover and stretch (active recovery) .. Been doing it like this for 3 weeks now .. I'm not exhausted at the end of the week but can feel that I did exercise

Anyone here do Insanity or Insanity Max? I love this. Just started doing some this week again with the aim to start the programme before work at 6am every morning. I usually get up at 6 30am with the kids, between kids and working till very late most nights the only way I'll get it done is first thing. Otherwise I talk myself out if doing it.
