I have lots of negatives. However I remember from a training course a while back how they said the brain memory can tend to automatically focus on negatives and the past which is reinforced by our culture. I can really understand what they mean, it's just so easy to go down the autopilot of thinking about worrying stuff. I have been consciously trying for a while now to be mindful of my mood and when it changes, and when it changes why. I am at the point where I can, consciously and with a bit of effort 'switch' into being positive - or at least neutral - about how I think. Anyway.
So, it's my turn. 3 positives.
1. Resisted the temptation to buy sausages (what is it with these meat cravings, when I eat, I only eat plants). Quite frankly, weird. 2. Managed to sit through my nieces b'day party with constant kids T.V., McDonald's happy meals, biscuits, birthday cake as well as numerous visitors - on pure caffeine and smiles. 3. Decided to have a longer term plan of what I would like to happen in my life. I have learnt that I like it when things are organised somewhat. Not too regimented, just a bit 'frayed round the edges'. I thought about this again yesterday and realised today. I had to take my phone for repair and backed it up and looked through the calendar and found I had plans for 3 weeks ahead. Aside from birthdays and repeat events it was a desert of aspiration. Plans are what I need with timescales, does no damn good just whirling about my head.
onwards and downwards

1. Got off work really late. Went home to take care of family duties. Went back to work. But when I finished, instead of going home, I went to the 24 hour gym. Where I worked out in a too-hot room full of huge scary weightlifting men for 1 1/2 hours. Yeah, I am determined. I am going to lose weight AND get in shape.
2. When I arrived home, I resisted the fabulous homemade enchiladas still sitting out on the counter after everyone had gone to bed. Cleaning up that meal without tasting it was harder than working out.
3. I needed to rent out my place because I am leaving to teach in a study abroad program in a month's time. Within hours of my posting the advertisement, It rented for the whole summer. That will keep me in Lipotrim and the family in enchiladas.

My 3 for today
1. Made it to ballet, perform and swimming with daughter (even if DD had to change in car and we had to run). 2. Enjoyed sitting down and eating during food week with kids. 3. Took time out to celebrate 2 stone weight loss by looking at before and after photos.

1) wicked day of temptations today--the worst of which was baby back ribs. Stuck a finger in the sauce as I cooked them. But I resisted eating one, barely. Just so barely. 2) found the oolong tea in cans I'd been searching for after hitting two Japanese markets. Now I have something lovely to drink besides the shakes. 3) actually took a day off--cooked two meals for the family, did the grocery shopping, and went for a walk on the bluffs above the ocean with family and friends
