This is very new to me so I'll be learning as I go. I'm very inspired by a friend who lost all her weight by just dropping white sugar. Nice day today with no sugar. I never add it to coffee, tea or breakfasts these days anyway. I have a sweet tooth so I bought Naked Cocoa bars today which are yum. Crushed nuts, fruit and Cocoa Altho I plan on making my own similar tray bake tomorrow. Good food shop done. Lots of reading labels at the mo and research to do. I'm not making it a major thing. I'm just deciding I don't want to be hooked on it anymore. I hope to see benefits but I'm warned it doesn't happen overnight. Anyone else simply looking to drop white sugar for now please come give me tips or we can jabber about it as we go.

Small things so far - I'll use cocoa in baking or hot chocolate I'll still use dribble of honey in porridge I'll still have small amount of fruit I want to have lots of healthy snacks to hand - carrots & houmous, hard boiled egg, homemade oat bar, naked cocoa bar, nuts, seeds and so on I want hubby to make up loads of his bread to slice and freeze. Really good and no sugar at all I really want to make this a lifestyle choice and not something I fall off the wagon from. So I love an Indian takeaway for example - once in a while it's ok. Yes there'll be sugar in it probably but I'm not taking this to the extreme. For now mostly I'll stop the white sugar wherever I can. Also hoping it will help with ongoing migraine and just changed medication. Fingers and toes crossed.

Four days of no white sugar and 3lbs down. No cravings for it. No headaches. Even saying no when offered things where I think it's likely to be lurking. It's enhancing the losses I'm sure. time will tell. It can only be a good thing. It's quite nice being in control of what I'm eating for once and not wanting to grab junk.

Daily weigher and another 1lb down. That's 4 lbs in 5 days. I'm not really thinking about this either. Because I'm Not looking for junk now my calories, when I've looked back over the day, have been far lower which is great. If anyone else is trying this it would be great to hear from you. I only know of one friend who did this but she lost all her weight and it's just the way she lives these days.

my twin brother has given up white sugar, he eats fruit but has 90% of the time (he had my homemade brownies at the weekend so doesnt completely deny himself) but if you as him what hes done its sugar hes got rid of, he was never overwight to start of with but he has lost id say 2 stone, he looks fab - too slim for my liking but he raves about the benefits over the last 4-6 months hes been doing it.

Thanks Goose. Yep it's brilliant. Energy levels are crazy. I feel amazing!!!! Scales down again today and that was choosing well at dinner party last night. Didn't have to have salad. Had a Moroccan chicken couscous with veg which was really good. Kept being pushed to have birthday cake but I wasn't at all interested and took it home for the babysitters who were delighted. Over 12lbs down now. 5 weeks tomorrow since I joined on low calories and 10 days of no white sugar. I couldn't shed a lb for months and with a lot of exercise and hard work would only go up and down the same half stone. Dropped the white sugar and instantly the scales moved in the right direction pretty exciting. Feels wonderful.

Well yeah I've always had a sweet tooth but i don't crave it at all now. Hope it lasts. Even tonight we had friends over for drinks and munchies. I stuck to the remains of the carrots and hummus. I was 13st. I'm now a smidge off 12st. I'm happy about 9.5st. Last time I was 9.5st tho was before babies 5 years ago or probably more. May have been more about the 10st mark. Only 5ft1.
