I am off to Florida in 24 days - if I can lose 10 more pounds I will be happy and deal with the rest (about another 35lb ) when I get back. Well done Shlexy.

Whoop, whoopo, I'm jealous you're off to Florida, it's a really nice time to go now, just after the wet season, have you been before?

My daughter is taking us to Iceland in 31 days as a thank you for supporting her through uni. Just lost 5lb & would like to lose another 16lb by then to get me to a stone & a half. The only thing I will have in common with nelli is the need to take sun glasses (because of the brightness of the snow & wind) but the rest of my gear will look a bit like the michelin man I think. x

It'll be a few years before we can go again as we've got a big holiday nxt year & the year after! I have withdrawals about Florida too, it's wonderful so much more than just Disney! My daughter is taking us to Iceland in 31 days as a thank you for supporting her through uni. There is a four hour stop over in Iceland and to pass the time they take you to the Blue Lagoon (where the Tennant's lager adverts were filmed). It was incredible, I cannot remember the time of year as it was a while ago (I think we did it three times) but we didn't see snow at all other than in the distance. It was very gray with houses painted in primary colours to brighten things up. It was also EXPENSIVE (capitals, bold and underlined) though that might have just been the airport and the Blue Lagoon. Hope you enjoy and hope the weight comes off too

Hi nelli. My daughter says the blue lagoon is a great way to start the visit off with. She went there last year.
I think it will be snowing in the north part of the country. We start off south & then will drive north for a bit. It seems like the south is wet & windy in November. I'm very disappointed though cos I wanted to see some Puffins but turns out they leave Iceland before we get there. Oh well I suppose that's a reason to go back another time.
I don't fair well in hot weather so Florida would be to hot for me which is a shame xx x

It is a nice surprise but then she was at uni for 6 years & I've had to postpone my early retirement lol x

I love Iceland, I've been several times! Enjoy your trip! Have you visited in November Sarah. I'm a bit unsure of what to take clothes & shoe wise apart from layering x

Hi yes I have been in November. Daylight hours are pretty short. We didn't have any snow but a lot of wind. I did the west (Snaefellsness peninsula), south coast and went east to Jokulsarlon. Had to make the most of the sunlight and take advantage of the breaks in the weather! How are you getting to the north, driving or flying? And whereabouts are you going? I want to visit the north in the summer to do some whale watching.

Our niece used to live in Macon and my BIL stays just outside Atlanta. J lived in Savannah for six months before he moved permanently to the UK and I spend eight weeks in total there (over 3 trips) I loved it so much and we are thinking we might drive up again this trip though we have another trip planned for June and my sister and BIL are coming with us and I'd love them to see Savannah.
