Women on workout videos generally get right on my tripe anyway, so I usually use male instructors. I've just been through my Fitness FX DVD's today and picked out all the arm workouts I want to do. Will do them in 10 minute chunks over the day.
Does anyone else want to keep this challenge going for another round when this one has finished?

I'll certainly try to keep going. As it's going to take more than a month to sort out my wings! Just done today's exercises - so that makes 10 (well 9.5) out of 15 for me!

Day 16 done - and I doubled the wrist weights today as we're halfway though, and I set myself that challenge when we started.
I'm definitely up for another challenge next month - it's enlivened & changed about my gym Routine a bit, which is always a good Thing.

Yay, I'm glad we're all onboard for doing the challenge again for another month. I'm really enjoying it also and it doesn't take too long when I'm restricting my exercise to several 10 minute mini sessions over the day. It soon mounts up and it doesn't seem to be taking it out of me quite so much

- and I doubled the wrist weights today as we're halfway though, and I set myself that challenge when we started. Funny you should say that - as that's exactly what I've done today. I found the exercises quite hard to start with - even with a light weight. But they were feeling much easier yesterday. So today my bottles have had gravel added to the water to double the weight. Some of the exercises were fine - a couple were a real challenge. But I completed the lot! Well apart from the pulses leaning forward. They are just too much for my back so I just stand straight and do them there. Keep it up ladies - we're over half way through.

I need to find a 10 minute one for my stomach to see if I can do anything about my "hysterectomy fold". Doubt it - but I can but try.

Well done Bev! It's amazing how quickly our bodies can strengthen up. I'm really enjoying this challenge, thanks for creating it!

I'm very unfit these days Lisa - as I can't do a lot of exercise now that stresses my back or knees. And I have to be careful of my shoulders too as they ain't so good either. I've broken my back twice and also badly injured both it and my sternum in a massive car crash. Badly damaged my shoulder at college doing butterfly (my competitive stroke) when someone swam into me mid-stroke and ripped all the muscles, ligaments and tendons. It was very nasty and I couldn't move it for almost 3 months. Recently had lots of problems with it for almost a year! Knees are just knackered from dance and gym (hah - also cracked my patella at college) and if I do too much one day - even gentle walking - I then can't walk the next as my knees swell up and won't bend! I used to swim every day - but even that now hurts everything as I do breaststroke which is notoriously bad for the back and knees. I sound like a real wreck - well actually I am My underlying core strength is still there - obviously not what it once was though - but not too bad. Plus I'm still very supple. What I'm trying to get rid of, though, is flabby skin really - I have a huge fold on my stomach as many women who've had a hysterectomy do plus my stomach skin is also pretty yukky from having lost weight. Not sure if I can do much about it but I can try. I contemplated a tummy tuck to get rid of the skin - but I'm not brave enough. I've found a few pilates ones on YouTube that, provided I'm careful, shouldn't hurt my lower back. I'll go and have at look at the NHS one - so thanks for that.

Blimey Bev you really have been through the wars you poor thing, so many injuries and pains, breaking your back must have been just horrendous. Could you not do those very light water aerobics? I know that there are many choices of different things now for so many different abilities. I'm a great believer in any movement being something. You are doing so well with your bingo wings challenge, I think you will really see a difference in the flabby skin, I think they say it takes about 8 weeks for it to fully take affect and people to notice a change?
Don't blame you at all for not doing the tummy tuck. I think operations should be avoided if at all possible. Now that I know all your problems with different injuries etc I am not so sure anything on the NHS website will be much help for your tummy, but of course you are the one who knows what you're capable of so you'll be the best judge of that.
I think it's good that we can encourage each other on here. If I come across any gentle exercises for you I will be sure to let you know then you can decide whether it's any good or not.

Thanks Lisa - those are just a few of my injuries. The rest would take another page or so. I was a fitness fiend when I was a lot younger - mostly olympic gymnastics but a lot of dance and swimming. The gymnastics is the one that's done the most damage - virtually every joint in my body is arthritic. When I trained, and subsequently taught, we didn't have the foam-filled pits underneath the apparatus that they have now when they train. So if you fell of the asymmetric bars you crashed into the floor from a great height!
Water aerobics don't seem to have got to Spain unfortunately - as there are very few indoor pools. Lots of outdoor ones of course but they are all only open June to the end of September. My nearest indoor pool is about 20 miles away and as I say once upon a time I trucked there every day as I love being in the pool. But no aerobic classes though.
I did loads of bingo wing exercise when I got to target in 2012 and it did help the flabby skin quite a lot after about 3 months. But I stopped doing them after about 12 months. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr And of course I'm now past the witching age and I suspect it will take a lot longer than 3 months to get them sorted out a bit this time. Ah well - onwards we go.
