I am having problems with my food week, its just setting me off eating the wrong things. I did want to do it for health precautions and to keep metabolism going. I am sure there is a bit of a boost to weight loss after the fw as I have noticed a lot of people report good losses after or even after taking a few days off for a holiday. Anybody do anything different for food week?

The only thing I can think of is to add eggs to things, e.g. boiled eggs in the dahl or curry and poached/boiled eggs with the burger or sausage mix. Also adding chicken to the curry. Alternatively to go food free and using the calories for milk and adding them to shakes or coffees.
I'd be really interested to hear everyone's thoughts on it.

Had another idea to add cheese to things, or suitable toppings onto exante pizza.
There's also a FB group specifically for food week if you are interested in that kind of thing.

That is a good idea as I had been meaning to try the pizza but haven't got any yet, so it would be something a bit different. Cheese is also very nutritious so it would be good from the health angle too.

day 1 of food week consisted of:
1 x egg whisked into the breakfast egg mix + 60g ham to make an omelette. The extras equated to: egg = 85 cal / 0 carb Ham = 70 cal / <0.5 carb (Was really just to get rid of the pack)
Cherry and almond bar
Indian style curry with rice mixed with 50g co-op flame grilled chicken pieces + handful of spinich. This was lovely and like a proper curry. Chicken = 72 cal / <0.5 carb Spinich (I'm not calculating a handful of healthy green veg)
Total cals = 227 Carbs = negligible

Food week day 2:
1 x shake
1 x caramel crunch bar
Snacks: Co-op flame grilled chicken 50 g (72 cal/<0.5 carb)\ Half Kiwi 29g (14 cal/3.1 carb) I really had a craving for fruit but it wasn't worth the carb value tbh Raspberries 60g (15 cal/2.7 carb)
Indian style dahl with 1 x boiled egg added (85 cal/0 carbs)
Total cals: 186 Total carbs: 5.8
I know I'm short of cals but I really don't want anything else. To be honest this food week is more hassle than its worth!

I often treat myself to a subway ham and turkey salad with cheese for lunch on food week. Other things I have are chicken salad, boiled eggs, omelette, stir fry with zero noodles. I usually only have 'real' food for one meal a day and count the calories and carbs on the myfitnesspal app. I never lose during food week, but usually have a decent loss the following week.

Today's food (day 3):
Strawberry shake blended with 60g raspberries - 15 cal/2.7 carbs
1 x boiled egg - 85 cal/ 0 carbs 270g roasted cauliflower with curry powder - 75 cal / 5.4 carb
1 x cherry and almond bar
1 x another bar tonight still to be decided!
So todays extra calories = 175 Extra carbs = 8.1
I know it's below the recommended threshold for food week but I'm happy with that. After an adult lifetime of learning about calories and saturated fat amounts or weight watchers points values, I am having to learn about carb amounts so I am taking it easy. I had no idea fruit and veg and a lot of carbs in them!

Food week day 4:
Sausage mix served with 2 fried eggs and a tiny splash of ketchup. (170 cals and whatever the ketchup is)
Exante bar
Nibble of chicken and one cauliflower floret
Exante bar
My breakfast of sausage mix and fried eggs was easily the best meal I've tasted in weeks. It was absolutely delicious.
I'm getting a bit lazy and can't be bothered calculating the carb amount as it doesn't seem like much from today's food). Coincidentally food week has corresponded with PMT week so I am still quite hungry despite having these extras.
Tomorrow I'm planning on using up a pizza pack (bleurgh) but adding low fat cheese to it to make it more palatable.

I just saw a recipe for cauliflower rice to go with a curry or chilli, they also made cauliflower mash.
