Do you set mini goals and break down your target into smaller amounts to help keep you motivated and do you have a non food reward system in place?

I have set some goals mainly to keep me from messing up on weekends as I always struggle then, through the week I find that I am stronger as there are less distractions. By being 100% all weekend my treat will be an evening at the cinema or bowling which I haven't done in forever! Plus its something that I can do with my grand children whom have never been bowling.

That's a great idea nannajo Are you thinking of going bowling this weekend or to the cinema? There is quite a few good films out at the moment. I'm not sure how old your grandchildren are but i'm sure they would love you to take them to the cinema to see The Minions film haha Some cinema's sell Coke Zero which you can have on plan and up to 600ml per day so you could treat yourself to one of them and maybe take a slim and save bar to nibble on throughout the film. If you find that you struggle at the weekend's, why don't you try doing Simplicity during the week then swap over to Lifestyle on a weekend as that way it gives you something to look forward to at the weekend's as you can look forward to having a tasty low carb meal If you want some idea's on what to make for your low carb meal, we have some fantastic recipes on our recipe site that the other member's have created. Take a look and see if there is anything that you might fancy - recipes.slimandsave.co.uk/ Keep us posted with how you're getting on and I hope you have a great day on plan x

Weekend are not too much of a problem for me. Hubby is sympathetic to my dieting attempt, we've no children and I work weekends a lot of the time too (but off this weekend). My old scales used to weigh in Lbs not kg or st lbs so I've gotten used to that even though I now have a new scales. I've set my mini-goals per 10lbs off - i.e reach 200, reach 190, reach 180 etc.
I'm also doing Simplicity for 6 days then lifestyle for 1. We always had a 'blow-out' meal once a week, so I'm keeping the tradition - lol. Tonight's blow-out will be steak and mushrooms with a green salad followed by half a chewy choc bar (if I can save it from the afternoon treat).

Breaking your goals into little steps will certainly help to keep your motivation high. Another idea is that you could jot down a list of reasons why you are on the diet on a piece of paper and carry it around with you or place it somewhere you will always see like on your dresser or fridge so that you are constantly reminded of your focus.
I hope you enjoy your steak and if you can please try not to have your choccy bar straight away, do your best to space your packs and meals out nice and evenly throughout the day leaving at least 3-4 hours in-between otherwise you may be having too many carbs at once. x

My meal was lovely. I felt stuffed afterwards though. I am in the middle of painting 12ft of bookshelves. Tedious beyond compare but got to be done. As soon as I get to one end, the first end's ready for a re-coat. I've just stopped for a choc caramel shake - gorgeous by the way - with a generous spoonful of psyllium husks.

It sounds like you are keeping quite busy with your painting which will certainly help to keep your mind off the diet plan. Glad you enjoyed the Chocolate Caramel shake, you must try our new Crispy Caramel bar if you have not done so already, it is really popular at the moment and taste's very much like a "Toffee Crisp". Even if you feel full at times please ensure that you eat all of your meals and try not to leave anything out as you will need to get your full recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals. Do you often suffer from constipation whilst dieting Whiskey as you are currently taking psyllium husks? xx

Painting finished thank goodness. Was good for keeping me occupied but not for the activity levels. Got the ceiling to do today. No I've never suffered from constipation in my entire life and don't want to be thank you I've been putting a spoonful of psyllium in porridge a few times a week for years (probably around 20 years), never harms to up your fibre (OK, it does sometimes but you know what I mean - lol). I've not tried the crispy caramel, will add to the list to order. The chewy choc is dangerously yummy. I'm trying to keep off them except if I need the convenience, normally not a sweet eater but that's so nice I'm scared it might convert me! I'm finding that eating four times a day suits me well. One of my 'off-diet' issues is that if I get really hungry I eat anything and everything. The four packs (or three packs and a meal) take that right out of the equation, hence me not being able to keep my bar for dessert the other night, which turned out to be a good thing

Good morning whiskey, sounds like you will be pleased to get the painting finished. Sounds like you have found your balance regarding the plan and what works for you. Which is what this is all about finding an eating pattern on plan that works for you.
