I really enjoyed the fitness class element of RC and the measuring cups are a useful tool, too. But the original 5% fat diet wasn't compatible within recent research. I believe they altered it to being more low carb, than just low fat -- but I still think the business has folded.

Oh, what a shame. I didn't realise that.

There's still an online presence - it hasn't completely disappeared. But yes, the Diet and Fitness Clubs went into administration last year.

It's just the slimming clubs that are no more, not Rosemary herself as diet guru I always wondered how they lasted as long as they did - there weren't enough franchisees, I think, because whenever I looked to find a group near me there wasn't one. I still think Rosemary's diets are very sound, and I like her exercise DVDs!

I still think Rosemary's diets are very sound, and I like her exercise DVDs! The franchises were very expensive, that's why! But we had a fab franchisee near me - she was lovely and really welcoming. But as Meltingmom said, the emphasis on really low fat has become passé. I don't know what the diet's like now, because you can't really see anything without signing up as a member. I have been in the past, but I don't think I would again.

I looked on the NHS website about diets and nutrition. They review a lot of the current diets and give pros and cons. Rosemary Conleys diet was the only one at the time they slightly recommended for long term success. Its gets people cooking and teaches portion control along with balanced meals. Not saying its the chosen one but if the NHS give it a tentative okay then cant be bad I must admit I have a few of her books and it is one eating plan I would consider if i had an ounce of organisational ability.
