I know, that looks like an unusual topic for discussion.
Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on the subject?
i am unsure whether I believe, or I WANT to believe?
I am very interested in the world of angels, white feathers, unexplained happenings, sightings etc. Mediums interest me, not in the causing distress or upset way, more in the sense of comfort or reassuring.
Anyone have any thoughts, or experiences in this subject?
All views welcome 😀

Not 100% sure about afterlife, but I certainly believe in spirits/ghosts . . . whatever you want to call them.
My youngest cousin described my Grandad to my mum (his aunt obviously) as "an old gent" that he talked to every night. So mum showed him a picture of grandad (his parents didn't have a picture of Grandad) and he said that was the chap. Carried on for about 18 months until both his parents had died tragically early and then he stopped visiting.
I was lay in the bath one day at our old house in Manchester. We had a dormer bungalow and pre- cat flap days used to leave the small top window open in there for the cats to use to get in an out as they could get onto the sloping roof from the garage and then just jump up through the window. Anyway, I was lay there having a good old soak and reading a book when I saw a cat jump through the window, come and sit on the end of the bath and purr at me. I said "Hi Tinky" and then realised that a) the window was actually shut (I'd done it when I got in the bath to stop the draft) and b) the cat in question had been dead for 10 years. T'was very spooky - and one of our cats died a few weeks later.
My mum insisted that she used to talk to my Gran after she died via a medium - but never sure whether the medium was reputable and was just stringing mum along. But mum insisted that gran said things that she'd never told the medium.

I use to have a guardian of sorts when I was a child. Don't know that it was an angel but it used to comfort me at night. I often woke up in the middle of the night & felt a wall all the way around my cot & voices calling me (I slept in a cot till I was 8 & I wasn't a baby or toddler when it 1st happened). Obviously this used to distress me until I started to feel a calming hand on my shoulder from behind telling me it will be ok & to go back to sleep. Our old house was attached to a dilapidated church & my bedroom window looked out onto its back yard & some headstones. It happened so much that in the end I got used to it but it continued till the time we moved.
Nothing like that has ever happened in any other places that I have lived since.
I cant say that I'd ever go to a Medium. I think that there are people that have some extra ordinary capabilities but that its so hard to know who is genuine & who is not. Since my childhood experience I tend to think that people will contact you in some way if they need to.
After life, not sure what it is really. I kind of believe that we come back more than once though x

When I am not chasing myself all around the boards this week, I will come back here and comment some more 😀

A fairly well known medium (who is a friend of our neighbours son) asked if he could "read" our house because he was attracted to it. The house is old and we have the original title deeds including all sorts of paperwork relating to owners etc that has been added to the bundle and passed down over the years. Also I am very into genealogy so have done some research into who lived here apart from the owners listed in the deeds.
Anyway he told us things I already knew, but couldn't see how he could have known, he said that a previous owner asked him to point out a leak in the roof (which spookily it turned out we actually had). He also made many statements which I could never have hoped to authenticate such as that a previous owner regularly sat in the back bedroom watching for someone coming from a bus, and that an eight year old boy was annoyed with me because he liked to play in the cupboard under the stairs but currently couldn't because of electrical equipment stored there.
About two years after the reading, our 90 year old neighbour introduced us to a visitor he had. She was close to 80 and had been born in our house and lived in it up until 1984. I showed her around and she told me all sorts of stories including about her father who had been ill, sitting in the right hand bedroom at the back each evening watching for her coming off the bus.
Incidentally, I am waiting on the next set of census records to find out if any of the children shown as living here in 1911 were still here in 1921 which they should be as the family were definitely still living here then.
The other thing is that the cupboard was full of computers, laptops, and other kit from work J had stored here didn't at the time have storage space for in the office, and he could never have known that !!!

That is so interesting Nelliduff, thank you for sharing. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but as long as it doesn’t scare me too much or is beyond the realms of belief or even expectations, then....I am completely fascinated Any more?

I do have very definite views on the subject but I wouldn't want to appear "preachy" so I will reserve it unless someone actually asks
