Hello *waves*! I was on Minimins and back in 2011 had great success with Lighter Life (lost nearly six stone). I kept it off for almost two years by low carbing but then life got in the way... I've been up and down ever since (mainly up, if I'm honest) and I'm now back at a size 20 . It is what it is I suppose! I've been focusing on getting more exercise lately - nothing major - just generally being more active - and next week I'm starting 5:2, using Slim and Save packs for my two fast days. Glad to have found this forum and I hope I can make a go of this, at least to lose a little of the weight and feel a bit more energetic again.

Good luck Spanglymum, I did 5:2 for a bit and it worked well, but I found it hard not to overeat on the non fast days. I think having 3 strict non fast days and 2 more relaxed ones is quite a good way.

Thanks, Lilacpenguin. I'm on my first "fast" day today - had two sns packs so far. I also went to the gym at lunchtime (and on Monday). I weighed myself. Not quite at my heaviest-ever, which I was surprised (and pleased) about. I feel mahoosive, but some of this is probably just perception...
Anyway - onward!

Thanks for your support, lilacpenguin. Lovely to not feel all alone!
Well I did fine yesterday. I had a difficult day at work and had work I needed to take home in the evening, so by the time I left work I was feeling a bit "woe is me" and tempted to buy something to eat - but I didn't. Go me! :-) I'd also forgotten that the sns packs are actually quite tasty, which was a plus.
Onward! "normal" day today - and meeting my Mum for lunch. Tomorrow I'm planning to work from home and I don't have another fast day til Monday - so I hope I can ignore my husband tempting me (he doesn't work as he has MS). He means well but sometimes it's difficult. Plan is to get a reasonably early night tomorrow and then for once, when I take my two daughters swimming in the morning, be awake and energetic enough to go to the gym while they're having their lessons. (I joined a gym near work which is in the same council chain as the one they have their lessons at - but so far haven't yet made it on a Saturday!). Then Sunday I'm helping at church at 8am - which means another early night Saturday - so by the time Monday rolls around I should have a good few "healthy" days under my belt. Here's hoping, anyway!

That's a good first day, keep going. I find it easier to stick to the packs than real food. You are being so good going to the gym too x

I didn't make it to the gym on Saturday but have kept to over 10k steps a day, which is better than nothing, right?! Fast day today and I was going to go to the gym but forgot I have a meeting at 1pm. Gah! Need to rethink my planning - Weds gym will be fine, maybe Thurs or Fri as well?
Happy to be on packs today as I quite like the "black and white" of it: makes me realise how much time and energy I spend thinking about food the rest of the time!

I like the packs too and if you are doing 5:2 you wont get bored of them. You are doing great with your exercise.
