Thanks guys it's so lovely to have this support. Makes a real difference.
Manage 2litres of water in work which is great and got home to my delivery.
DH and I have just had a Dahl.
First thought was Oh No. It smelt really off putting. I hate the soups because of their smell and taste (I think it's the taste milk powder in them being warm).
First Taste - ok. A bit bland.
So I added a large pinch of black pepper and chill powder and it was actually quite nice!
It wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped for but I'm happy.
I feel really full now though. I hope it doesn't knock me out of ketosis with the rice.
DH and I are going to split a jam bar and a caramel crunch bar later on for our 3rd pack.

I think the dahls have same amount of carbs as all the packs so don't worry about ketosis.

Having a good chat with DH tonight, really getting my head in the zone and feel super positive again.
I've just thought of a nice goal I would like to aim for.
I've not been able to wear my engagement ring and wedding ring for 4.5 years. I had to take them off in late pregnancy and I've never been able to get them on since. It breaks my heart.
There are 4 months until our wedding anniversary. It would be wonderful if I could lose 4 stone by then because maybe I will be able to get my rings on then!!!

Day 7. So tired today, loonnng day in work. I've only just got home.
Had all my packs, enjoying the Dahl and the jam bars are GORGE.
I've had comments that I've lost weight as well so that's great!

Lol it's ok, today is day 8.
I've been so tired today. I can't remember being this tired on it last time. And I've been really hungry today as well.
It's probably because I've been so busy that I've not been able to drink much water.
I've managed to down 2.5 litres tonight.
Do you guys measure ketosis with ketostix? I always go in between 1+ or 2+. In all the years we've been VLCDing, DH only goes in with traces of ketones in his urine. It's never affected his weight loss, he always lost on average 5lbs a week and his breath stinks but it's weird he doesn't go massively into ketosis.

You are doing really well.
Regarding ketostix I used to use them when I was on cambridge but stopped as I didn't find the readings very reliable, ie it could appear that I want on ketosis, yet hadn't strayed off plan. I found it another thing to worry about to be honest so stopped using them.

so this is crazy... i've been umming and ahhing about getting back on the VLCD train for a loooong time and just this past monday jumped right back in. found this forum today, after realising that minis has closed (sadface), and then found your thread. i know you! </stalker eyes> i used to haunt the everloving heck out of minis back in 2008, and unless this is a case of mistaken identity, we definitely used to chat. my username was rainbowbrite back then, and i used to write every post in pink haha. and then there's this  lolol things work out so weird! i'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a rough time lately but a massive welldone for making breakthroughs and i really hope that things start getting much better for you from here on out! well done on making the decision to get stuck back in and even more kudos for doing it blind - i've tried that before but honestly i'm just too weak and curious to not jump on the damned scales! what a wonderful christmas present it will be to see those numbers staring back at you on the morning of the 25th! anyway, i'm being weird and awkward so i should probably shuffle off especially considering this is my first post on this site and now everyone thinks i'm a nutjob  ONWARDS AND DOWNWARDS!  |
