Not sure if anyone has heard about the new 'steak bake' recipe doing the rounds but everyone has been talking about it in our groups for the last 2 weeks and its amazing! You use the Kingsmill wholemal thins which are 1 for a HEXB, and then either a tin of M&S extra lean tender stewing steak or asda chosen by you stewed steak which are both free. Most other brands are 4 syns for a 400g tin so be careful. Just spoon the steak mix into the thin, and then seal with beaten egg and brush this over the top too, and bake in the oven on 180 for about 10-15 mins. The thin will go gorgeous and crisp just like a pastry! Everyone has been raving about them, definitely worth a go for a snack or make them a meal with beans and SW chips or mash and veg?

I sometimes put a little tinned apple (100g = 1 syn) ion the thin and put under the grill for a while and serve with yogurt. Very nice.

I found a SW Cornish 'pasty' recipe similar to this but it used a pitta instead. I overfilled them and they didn't turn out right! But this sounds nice, will give it a try!

The Kingsmill thins are open all the way round so seems like it shouldnt work, but with the egg wash they seal quite well and mine dont leak everywhere. Really yummy

Well I was going to try the steak one but went to M&S to get a tin and it was nearly £4. Decided I may do apple instead.

Not an Asda near me. Shame. Thanks anyway.
