I've realised that a full VLCD just isn't for me. I think my body is still getting over pregnancy and labour, it just isn't up to a VLCD at the moment so the plan is to follow a 5:2 type diet with Exante/SML products on the 2 fast days and the 5 'feast' days will be calorie counting to around 1,500 calories with a low carb focus. I don't plan on cutting out all carbs, I'm going to focus on cutting out those bad, refined carbs.
How's everyone else getting on?

That sounds very sensible I found out last year that getting over a pregnancy (I had a termination for medical reasons at 20wks) takes a long time 6-8 months of symptoms and because I didn't have a baby to distract me I noticed how much the symptoms effected me. I complained loads to the doctor about all my symptoms and was advised it was normal and generally it can/ might take up to a year for a woman's body to recover properly. Eating all the colourful veggies, salads, berries, and some fruit should be plenty of good carbs Sounds very primal/ paleo Hope your wee one is not keeping you up too much at night .. Tiredness is the worst thing for carb cravings. It's been just over a year now and I'm doing ok mentally, sometimes a bit wistful., . Just thought I would mention how long my symptoms effected me - never noticed any symptoms with my 2 other children.. I'm sure they were there ., I was Just to busy to notice or understand why I was feeling certain ways.. Be gentle on yourself and give yourself time to recover. I did read a few articles of women using 5:2 during pregnancy and afterward but at a higher fast day kcal level ., eg 800-1000 instead of the normal 500. I hope it works for you

I've read a lot about how this diet will help restore the body. I want to try it, as I always do on Monday. I want to read more reviews and understand what the risks are. I want to try eating more protein but avoid simple carbs.
