I was a long standing minis member but never really used this part of the forum but it's definitely where I belong. Thankfully giving birth saw me lose 21lb in the space of about a week but I've still got about 6 more stone that I want to lose. Now that I have a daughter it gives me even more reason to. I want to be able to run around with her and not get tired. I want her to grow up with the right attitudes and habits. I don't want to pass on weight issues to her, I want her to grow up fit and healthy so I do mean it this time! No more faffing about. Onwards and downwards.

I know what you mean about not wanting to pass on bad habits, sadly my children have already picked up some of mine. I am trying to break it but it's certainly not easy. Xx

I'm exactly the same caz, tomorrow I'm going to the school my daughter will be starting in September and no doubt there'll be talk of healthy lunches and the obesity epidemic in Ireland, all well and good I feed her a pretty great diet, but what use is that when I'm sitting there 5+stone overweight!?
I felt a little lost in the last few years on Minis because I flitted between slim and save, 5:2 etc and never really found a section I "belonged" and I never even thought of WeMITTs!
What plan are you following? And thanks again (and again and again) for setting this up!

Well it's meant to be Slimming World but at the moment I'm just not following anything properly, I'm just half heartedly doing it and that's really not good enough. My sister and nieces are due over any time now as they're visiting for a few days but I might make them come with me to SW just so I can weigh in before we go out, if I'd known they'd be so late coming over I'd have gone to the 9.30 one this morning. I didn't go last week knowing that it wouldn't be good so I really need to get back on it properly and stop faffing!
I found the same on minis, I flitted around so much that my diary wasn't very active because I was never active on any specific board for very long. Hopefully it'll be better for us both now we're in our new homes over here.

So many people I know have had amazing success with SW and it seems a great plan that fits in with the whole family. I'm not surprised you've been half hearted sure you have a brand new baby! When my DD was that small all I seemed to do was eat, I actually put on more weight on maternity leave than I did in my whole pregnancy  So you're doing great to even be thinking about it!

I am the same Caz - following SW half harted. Hoping this new forum and weigh day today will get me back on track. I never used the weMITTS in minis so I am glad I found it here. I still have 8 stone to go so need to concentrate on it!
Good Luck, Gem x

This is what spurred me on to initially lose weight (37yrs ago) with a new baby. Without wishing to cast a pall over things, she died 5yrs ago yesterday and my weight has ballooned .... I'll get me coat

I'm so sorry to hear that tasi. I can understand how that's happened. Unfortunately our circumstances and emotions dictate far too much of our lives, including our eating and therefore our weight.
