A fitbit is good if all you want to do is track steps and floors climbed. If you want to track calories burned just during a shorter exercise activity then a heart rate monitor would be good.

Here's a snapshot of the fitbit charge HR which includes heart rate monitor to more accurately calculate calorie burn - also to give you an indication of how hard you're working. Heart rate can be in 4 categories, resting, fat burn, cardio and peak: I love mine!

I've tried them all and quite liked Fitbit - I had the flex I believe. My only issue with it was accuracy but as they create an overall trend then I don't think it really matters. I've heard good things about the FItbit Charge too.
I've just bought an Apple WAtch Sport ( which is a joke really, as I'm not running at the moment ) and so far, so good. It's pricey but then, I do love a good gadget

right I have been looking at the fitness trackers and as I get very little sleep at times (bipolar) I think something that will monitor my sleep with be really useful to me
so been looking at various fitbits and a few other systems - as long as it links to my iphone I really dont care what sort it is as long as it has good online reviews

The 'charge HR' does heart rate but the normal 'charge' doesn't xx

I love my Fitbit flex - you can get so many colour bands .. Pink, red, blue, teal, black.. A colour for each day, a colour to suit your mood It's water proof .. Needs charging once a week .. Records sleep .. Is not too big on my wrist ..

My Fitbit One syncs with MFP - I have a MFP ticker too, which automatically updates since I also have the Fitbit Aria scales. Modern technology is amazing!!!
