I'm really keen to get something like this, as I've heard good things, but do they really help motivate/stay on track or are they just fancy (and vastly overpriced) pedometers? Also which one is best in your opinion? I'd really welcome some opinions on this

Hello goldichocs,
I have a FitBit and been using it for about two weeks. I absolutely love it, you can keep track of your diet, fluid intake and sleep (which is a big thing for me). It also calculates how many calories you have burnt.
I totally would recommend it, the only thing I would say is make sure it does what you are looking for as they can be a lot of money.
Take gentle care Lucy xx

Yes the calories you've burned function ^^^^^^^ is brilliant
I've got a fitbit one too, I've had it for about 8 months. I love mine so much I bought one for my hubby recently. I got mine because I had a perception that I was very active in work but it wasn't been borne out by my weight. I wanted to see what was really happening. Not only did I find out that I wasn't half as active as I thought in work, I'm also even worse at home, so I need to do more, much much more. They really are great motivators. I suppose my little fitbit is actually the root cause of why I'm here. It's taken a few months but there really is no hiding.

I brought a Fitbit zip yesterday and I already love it. Had me out walking in the rain this morning. I've started calorie counting and it syncs with the app I use to keep track of calories.

I have a Fitbit flex and absolutely love it. I find the sleep tracker really interesting and an eye opener as i was waking up really tired and the tracker showed that I was actually really restless during the night. I'm really rubbish with the amount of steps I do but I do love my Fitbit and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I have had my fitbit flex since March, I knew I wasn't active enough on the days that I wasn't doing gym classes as my job does involve a lot of sitting at my desk either writing or using the computer. It isn't possible for me to leave my desk and walk around enough to get my step count up to the recommended 10,000 steps per day - most days I actually struggle to reach half of that. I've been doing more gym classes since getting the fitbit, but still feel I'm not walking enough on the non-gym days. Some of my gym classes involve a lot of movement, so they boost the steps for those days, but when I am doing one particular class, although I am working hard doing squats, sit ups etc none of these register as steps on the fitbit.
I am wondering whether to upgrade my fitbit and get one that also monitors my heart rate. One thing my flex doesn't do, which I believe other versions do, is count floors??

Gaaah. So glad I found this thread - it's reminded me to get my fit bit on!
I got one for my birthday (back in January no less) and used it for ages, took it off to wash up one day and have never put it back on since!

Hello, Don't fight for losing weight. Just go for slimming pills and fat burners . After this you don't need to do any hard dieting and hard exercise. By these supplements you will feel energetic whole day. Thanks, Sam
