Still no luck! I'll crack it, just don't know when There you go, only took 2 cups of tea and added about 10yrs to my life. Anyway! This is about 18x16inches and made from cotton silk thread. Sometimes you have to mix 3 different colours on your needle to get the right shade. I can only make them in the summer because artificial light just isn't enough

Beautiful - but three different colours as one thread?!! That's far too much attention to detail for me to cope with; can well understand the good daylight requirement. These new-fangled energy-saving bulbs are useless for detailed or fine work and I don't find the blue 'day-light' bulbs much help either.

Specsavers offered me a coating on the bifocals I use to watch TV and knit at the same time. It was designed to I quote,'maximize the amount of light available' and especially good in artificial light. So I went for it. Now, it may be just me, but I have found them bl**dy useless. I get halos around lights and a kind of bluey smeary tinge on everything. I sent my prescription to an online optician and they made me up a pair of bifocals, no nonsense, no fancy bits and they have been marvelous.

Love the pic, great work - Kinkade is one of my favourites too. I also hate these stupid newfangled lightbulbs, it's just like having really dim fluorescent lights all the time which hurts my eyes and gives me headaches. I don't mind saving the planet but surely not at the expense of those who have to live on it in the here and now!!!

I hate the way some of them stick out of the top of a table lamp if you can't get the right one. AND I hate going to buy them. 50 years ago you had a clear choice pearl or clear and the wattage was clearly displayed too. Now you need a blinking ology in physics to go and find what you want.
