Great! Thanks No problem! If you think you'd like to have a go at this sort of thing, take a look at the canvas embroidery section of sewexciting.com as they have some cushions etc which are basically samplers so you learn a number of different stitches. They're not cheap, unfortunately, but a good way of learning.

Thanks to Patty, I've had a lovey half hour, on the site she recommended to me, picking out my cross stitch Christmas cards for special people next Christmas

I've ordered 2 Christmas cards (cross st) and a small embroidery hoop. Depending on how I get on with this, I'll try some more. Really excited about a new hobby thank you so much Patty

I do cross stitch but just cannot do stamped cross stitch. I much prefer to use aida. Find it much easier. Just a bit of counting.
I mostly do cards. Birthday and christmas ones for grandkids and nieces and nephews. Just Christmas cards for brothers and sisters.
If they are on 14count and too big for my cards then I do them on 16 or 18 count.
Don`t know how to do photos. Wish I did as I have pretty much done all the Christmas ones.

I am sitting here stitching now. I am currently working on a Gorjuss design for my daughter but I really prefer to stitch traditional reproduction style samplers.I have recently done some hardanger as well. I have a blog called Quietly Stitching where I tend to post my updates. Nice to see there are a few other crafters out here too.
I also crochet.
Look forward to getting to know some of you better. x

I'll have to post a pic of the project I'm currently working on. It's coming along much faster than I thought it would. I'll get a photo up later on when I have time.

Have been doing a picture of a tiger from the Artery website for the last couple of years and must get back to it but I have so many other crafts on the go (knitting, quilting, crochet and dressmaking) that I have neglected it for a couple of months -well more like 6 if I'm honest. It covers 12 pages and I am on page 6 so quite a way to go yet.

Carol I'm the same, I have a project I've been doing for 16 years I also quilt, crochet, knit, want to learn dress making and want to learn embroidery. I also do tapestry. I love crafts.
