I have found that doing cardio halted my weight loss.. But everyone is different

I avoided it for the first two weeks, I didnt wanna overexert my body while it was adjusting to something it wasnt used to. As for cardio, take it really, really easy. You can get lightheaded and it wont be good. Even moderate exercise is something I try to keep small. I like to take walks everyday (more for depression but also good for weight loss), once or twice a week i'll take a really slow jog, and five days a week I do strength training and pilates along with yoga. i don't do it for very long either, maybe half hour to 45 minutes. I find that even the little amount of exercise I do, I lose weight faster. Right now its like a pound every two days, usually more. And I don't do very much exercise. I know that if I did, it could come back and bite me in the bum! like not stretching before a run and then pulling a muscle and not being able to run for three weeks because of it! If I feel lightheaded or strange, I stop. I never push myself farther than my body warns me to. basically what I'm saying is take it easy!
