This part of the forum seems a little dead at the moment I'm sort of calorie counting but also procrastinating and was thinking of adding some fasting into the mix. Anyone else doing some kind of fasting and want to chat / provide mutual support? As they say the more the merrier!! And I'm forever finding excuses for eating a shed load of chocolate so would be good to have someone to give me a kick up the back side

Cutting out sugar is probably the best way to do a diet - and saving it for the occasional treat/meal off. Sugar really plays around with hunger levels and creates addictive habits... So cutting it out is probably a good idea for now... You could either do 5:2, so 500 calorie days for two days a week and the rest CC'ing at maintenance or below. Or you could do an everyday approach if you're prone to skipping breakfast like I am, so 16:8. I'm currently on a 16:8 with VLCD for 4 weeks and then returning to CC'ing after. Good luck! x

16:8 with VLCD... Hmm. I usually fast 8pm-3pm next day (so more like a 19:5?) having just coffee with a little milk and then have a small protein meal (usually an egg-white omelette) and then have dinner of two packs at the end of the day. So really it's not a strict VLCD, but I keep carbs at the limit it would have been with four packs (milk and a small WW yoghurt add to it). I have a day off here and there and because the rest of the days are so low, it doesn't do much to sabotage the weight loss. I did a normal CC 16:8/20:4 for two and a half months and saw roughly half a stone per month loss, and will be returning to it after this stage - I just saw my losses stall on week 11 and went off the rails a bit, so thought a more strict approach for a few weeks would give me a kick up the bum to keep going, even though every fibre of my being is tired of dieting at the moment!
