I have read that a lawsuit claims Fitbit wrist-based heart rate monitor is “inaccurate and dangerous” . The Claim relates to the Charge HR activity tracker.
The claims that the device’s pulse sensor delivers inaccurate and potentially dangerous readings.
I was looking at getting one. I do have a very old Fibit for when I go out walking. I am joining an over 60's gym club and wanted to get a charge HR.
Does anyone on here use one? if so how accurate do you think they are?
Or which HR monitor would you recommend.

Watched a programme last night on BBC 2 about activity trackers. They all registered different so I have come to the conclusion that we all have different stride lengths so they won't record the same for everyone. Now to find one I like.

I don't think activity trackers are accurate, but heart rate monitors are probably slightly better. I had one which required you to wear a strap around your chest and 'calculated' your calorie burn.
I think it is more motivational than anything. I find they encourage me to be more active.

I now regard my fitbit as an updated pedometer and a method a getting my Bounts points - counts my steps and not that acurate. My Oh has one, we have the same step size, do the same walk and he can add 1,000 more steps than me so really only gets me off my bum and move.

I only have the fitbit one which I wear strapped to my bra between the ladies. I don't use the distance feature as its really not at all accurate however the steps and floors and minutes active features are all pretty much spot on. I think they become less accurate when worn on the wrist and that goes up more if worn on the dominant wrist.
I've been looking at upgrading to a surge for heart rate features but i am worried about the accuracy

Did you know if you walk against the wind the floor counter goes up. Still not decided on getting one. Don't think I really need one at the gym club now.
