Hi everyone. I am an ex-Slimming Worlder who lost the plot, and is now finding success with 5:2 / The Fast Diet. Some of you may remember me from the old Minimin's forum (Princess_Stevie).
I get lots of people interested in the diet and asking how it works, so I thought I'd share with you the three basics of the plan - in case anyone else is interested! Please see below...
- 2 x Fast days per week - choose busy days so that you won't think about food. Women eat no more than 500cals per day, men 600cals. These days can be different each week, but never do more than two Fast days back to back / in a row.
- Plan your Fast day meals - eat your calories in 3, 2 or 1 meal(s). There may be benefits in eating later / skipping breakfast. Soups are great in winter, salads in summer, etc. Drink lots of water, black tea / coffee. Calorie count any milk / diet sodas.
- Eat "normally" on the other 5 days - enjoy balanced meals, plus some treats. If you need a guideline, you can calculate your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure, i.e. your "normal" daily allowance) at thefastdiet.co.uk
I am hoping to see other 5:2'ers joining me in due course, and am also happy to help with anything I can!
Happy Fasting

What I need are tips on how not to eat the entire contents of my house on up days... I take it an "up day" is the same as a non-Fast day? We all seem to call them different things - they're Feast days for me lol Thankfully I've managed not to eat anything and everything in sight on my Feast days. I always have a "treat" but stay within my allowance / TDEE. And it's certainly paying off!

Duct tape..? Plan your up days, using real foods - any sugary processed foods leave in the supermarket tell your kids sorry I'm not buying "these" things any more as they are not healthy.. It's what I did to mine lol if it's not in the house I can't eat it and neither can they

Found you lovely subbing of course Xxx Hello honey! Not using this page as a diary, just as an introduction to 5:2 for anyone who may be interested in starting. But I'll still be around! xxx
