Hello there fellow CC'ers (Auto correct almost put an 'o' & a 'k' in there.. Could have got in trouble, haha) As a newbie, I've had a scout around and found nothing on the subject of whether people are cutting out, restricting or continuing as normal with alcohol consumption. Particularly those calorie counting, but also other plans . Personally, I have completely cut it out. I find it brings my mood down anyway - not at the time of drinking, but for a good few days afterwards. It also seems hangovers last far longer these days - at least 2 days to clear a headache - it's just not worth it for me. Add to that the relatively high calorie count, particularly for wine & beer, it seems daft to use my calories on something that's going to make me at best headachy & grumpy. MAYBE I'll indulge SLIGHTLY over Christmas, but to be honest, I'm not sure its worth it. Much prefer a bar of chocolate and a clear head, then I can 'lol' at all the hungover masses, chirping 'no sympathy' with a smug grin. That's my evil side showing there Any thoughts? Xx

Just seen this- I pretty much cut it out completely (with the odd exception)!!
I find it makes me low the next day as well, particularly after a lot of booze. If I am going to indulge, I have little bottles of prosecco, that contain about 2 glasses for around 150 Cals (so the website tells me...). Sometimes I have vodka and a diet mixer, depending on shot size it's about 125 Cals for a single. I think it's the same for any spirit and diet mixer.
Some nights tho, I just go out and go crazy lol. No calories counting on those days (also the following hangover day!)
Hope this helps xx

Thanks for replying max - I'd totally forgotten about this.. Trouble with me is I dont have a very efficient 'off switch' when it comes to alcohol. I'd start with the very best of intentions, and wake up wondering how I ended up with one leg on the sofa and one leg off, dribble down me chin & an empty packet of biscuits stuck under my armpit Those lil bottles of prosciutto just wouldn't cut it for me.. Seems to be all or nothing, so for now, I'm choosing nothing. Xx

Before, if I had to have a drink in the evening, I would only take white wine, one glass at most, and it could not be counted in calories. Also, you have to drink more water if you drink alcohol. Or better yet, just don't drink, or one glass of prosecco, which is my favorite wine.
