Hi guys,
I was hoping to hear from anyone who has worked with a personal trainer - what your experience was like? I realise they're ALL different of course! But I've never spoken to anyone who has gone down this route. I've tried group classes/boot camp style but would like to try something more individualised due to health/injury concerns.
Thanks xx

I used a PT in a gym for 2 months (3x a week) at the beginning of the year. It was OK. I, personally, didn't feel they listened to me. They had a set routine which they seemed to use for everyone and I was expected to fit into it despite my health issues. I stopped going in the end. I felt tired and sore all the time, didn't lose a thing and just didn't enjoy it.
But I have a friend who had a PT who went to her house and she really loved it. She got fit and slim and seemed to not have the issues I had with mine, so I think mine was just a poor choice.

They are all different, some love their jobs and really want to see you benefit from their experience, some just love themselves and are not focussed as you said.
If you find one you like you will really benefit. Try to look for one. That is a nutrition expert as well as these are the ones that usually focus better.
Hope you find one you like, I had one that wanted me to run, and I hate running, then I found one who did weights and circuits and did a lot better with that one.

Find one who is actually interested in what you want to do, not one only interested in what they want. This is the difference between good and bad. If you find one who listens to you (which they should do, primarily) then they are worth the money.
I've joined gyms which have offered the former. I've had far better results by finding the latter - found by asking for personal recommendation. There are some great personal trainers out there wh can make a real difference to your results.
